Taste of London 2019
Monty's Brewery headed to London again this year for the Taste of London event in Regent's Park where their keg range of beers were showcased, giving the London audience a chance to try some of the best Welsh beer available. Monty's had their 2.8% beer 1267, their 8% Barley Wine Magnitude, 5.6% Dark Secret stout and 4.6% Masquerade on. 3 of the beers were gluten free beers and went down really well with the visitors to the show.

Monty's training programme
Excited to present Mal Thomas with his Diploma in Team Leading Certificate today. Great work by Mal for this over the last year he's worked really hard to achieve this.
Training is an important part of our culture here at Monty's, with all staff getting training of some kind. Certificate being presented by Pam Honeyman owner of Monty's and Janice Howells from Myrick training.
Monty's at Pub19
Monty's Brewery at pub19 this week showcasing our beers, and sampling some too! On the Drinks Cluster Wales stand, on the stand a selection of grest Welsh breweries, cider, soft drinks and spirits. All fantastic Welsh producuts. We poured our double 3 gold star Great Taste winning gluten free oatmeal stout Dark Secret.
Monty's in Les Herbiers, France
Monty's Brewery headed out to Les Herbiers in France for a Christmas market weekend. Les Herbiers is twinned with Newtown, Powys. It was a great opportunity to showcase our beers and give people the opportunity to try them. We also took over some great wines on behalf of Montgomery Vineyard.
Dark Secret wins 3 Great Taste Gold Stars for second year running
Our fantastic gluten free oatmeal stout Dark Secret wins again at the prestigious Great Taste Awards. Winning 3 stars once is amazing but 2 years running is exceptional. Monty's also brew an export version at 5.5% for Scandinavian market.
Two Awards for Monty's at the 2018 Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival
Really chuffed with two awards again this year. Our ever faithful signature brew Sunshine was runner up in Bitter category and Mischief runner up in Strong Bitter category. More space required on the wall at our Visitor Centre. It's been a great week we are Finalistsin Made in Wales competition too.
Royal Welsh 2018
We are at the Royal Welsh this week, with a stand in the Foodhall. Our 3 Great Taste Gold star Dark Secret is available plus of course our full range of other beers. Gift boxes, single bottles and 5 litre mini kegs.
Monty's in Regents Park Taste of London
Monty's Brewery showcases their beers at The 2018 Taste of London in Regents Park. For the beer drinkers there was Desert Rats, IPA, and the two gluten free beers Masquerade and Dark Secret, all served in Craft Keg format.
Desert Rats Lands
Well summers here officially now as Monty's today launches "Desert Rats". The great citrus, dry, blonde ale. We donate 5p per pint to @SSAFA on our sales. This year we have a veteran from the landings pulling the first pint today at our visitor centre.
Masquerade now in Finlands largest retailer
Monty’s Brewery, the Mid Wales based brewery is pleased to announce it has secured a deal to supply Finland’s leading grocery retailer – S Group – with it’s Gluten Free golden ale Monty’s Masquerade. The 4.6% gluten free beer will be placed in S group’s Prisma hypermarkets throughout Finland.
Commercial Director for Monty’s Brewery Russ Honeyman commented “We are extremely pleased with this export order to supply S Group. The initial contact was made back in 2015 after a Welsh Government sponsored trade mission to Finland and Sweden. We were introduced to importers and buyers, and from that were contacted by a Finnish importer, over the course of the last year and after a few small orders and samples which we presented to S Group we are now listed in their Prisma Hypermarkets which is a great outcome”.
Antti Oksa, the Vice President of S Group Retail Business said “We are excited to have this greatWelsh Brewery supplying our 66 Prisma stores in Finland, and to have this quality beer in our beer assortment. We are looking forward to introducing it to the Finnish customers”.
Old Jailhouse, Finalist Champion Beer of Britain
Old Jailhouse was a finalist in this years CAMRA GBBF at Olympia for Bitters. Old Jailhouse is a good old fashioned easy drinking bitter with malt character. To be a finalist is a great achievement. It follows up on the 2 Great Taste Gold stars Old Jailhouse won this year too.
Dark Secret gets 3 Gold Stars
Our gluten free beer Dark Secret was one of only five beers that won the coverted Three Gold Stars at this years Great Taste Awards. Comments such as "cleverly constructed" and "Excellent" were just some of the comments the judges gave.
Eastbound wins at SPBW Woodfest 2017
Our beer Eastbound won best IPA at the first ever Society for the Preservation of Beers from the Wood festival held at Horse & Jockey pub in Castleford, W Yorkshire. The beer was served from a Brazilian wooden cask. It gave a great vanilla touch to the beer. Head judge was the famed beer writer Roger Protz.
Experimental No.2
Whats been brewing?
Our latest experimental beer Mexicola - is a Black Rye Baby IPA at 3.0%. It messes with your head, in a nice way mind you!
Try it at our Visitor Centre, The Cottage, Montgomery and at The Sportsman, Newtown.
Monty's Desert Rats Launch
We had the pleasure of Henry Montgomery, grandson of the famous General Montgomery pull the first pints of oour popular summer beer Desert Rats on June 8th. Monty's donates 5p per pint to the forces charity SSAFA to help servicemen and women. Monty's also produced 1000 bottles this year too.

Greenman Festival Winner
Mischief won the judges over at the Courtyard Greenman Festival in London on May 26th. Mischief was in the Golden Ale category at this fantastic festival of Welsh Ales at Kings Cross.

The successful candidate will work alongside the existing team on all day-to-day aspects of the brewery, including SALSA compliance at our main brewery and our development brewery in our Visitor Centre.
